Gifts of Community Holiday Giving Program

Gifts of Community Sponsorship Registration is open for the 2024 holiday season! Register here to sponsor a family this holiday season.

The holidays can be stressful for families, and the season of giving puts added pressure on caregivers who are just trying to make ends meet. By supporting a family this holiday season through our Gifts of Community Holiday Giving Program (formerly Adopt-A-Family), you can reduce the stress on a family working towards greater stability. Rally your family members, co-workers, and friends to make this year special for our families and yours.

FAQs:

Why the new name? At FamilyWise, we support the strength and wellbeing of families. We use a strengths-based approach, which centers on recognizing each individual’s or family’s capacity, skills, and potential. We want the language we use to reflect the strength of families and to emphasize that community support is essential for all families to thrive. Through the Gifts of Community Holiday Giving Program, community members can show their support for families by providing gifts that help families achieve their goals.

What does being a sponsor entail? When you register to sponsor a family, you will indicate how many individuals you are able to support, with a $50 recommended spending amount per person. After you register, we will match you with a family/ies and send you their wishlists around Thanksgiving. You will have a few weeks to shop for your gifts, and we will send you more details about drop-off times that will be in mid-December.

I have a corporate group looking to be a sponsor. Do you support groups of our size? Absolutely! We have many corporate groups who participate in our program. You just have to indicate an adequate number of individuals when you register as a sponsor. If you are looking to involve a large number of people, there are also other opportunities to support families this holiday season, including item drives and volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in those, please connect with our Volunteer & Intern Coordinator Meredith Rosheim at [email protected]

“I want to send a very special thank you your way for making my family’s Christmas so amazing! It is something I will never forget, and one day I hope to do the same for someone’s family also. My kids loved their gifts and so did I. I am so grateful for your kindness and wish love and blessings to you and your family. Your generosity made our Christmas so special, so thanks again!” –Gifts of Community 2021 Recipient
