The training will be held on the following three dates/times*: 

–  Training Day 1: Thursday, November 12th from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (virtual on Zoom) 

–  Training Day 2: Friday, November 13th from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (virtual on Zoom) 

–  Training Day 3: Thursday, December 10th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (virtual on Zoom) 

Attendees will be expected to designate approximately 35 – 70 hours over the next year to becoming a Certified ACE Interface Presenter. 

Here is an estimated breakdown of the time commitment: 

• Presenter Training in Fall 2026 (17 hours) 
• Independent time building comfort and practicing the ACE Interface curriculum (10+ hours) 
• Presentation #1 (2-hour presentation + planning time with co-presenter + paperwork) (4.5-6 hours) 
• Presentation #2 (2-hour presentation + planning time with co-presenter + paperwork) (4.5-6 hours) 
• Presenter Demonstration with FamilyWise staff (1 hour) 

Once certified, Presenters are encouraged to spend additional time facilitating Presentations, participating in Community of Practice offerings, and getting to know the content, so they can enhance their ability to present the ACE Interface presentation. 

Given the time commitment involved with becoming a Certified ACE Interface Presenter (a time commitment of approximately 40 – 60 hours over a 9-month period), prospective presenters are strongly encouraged to attend an Understanding ACEs: Building Self-Healing Communities Presentation prior to attending the Presenter Training so they are familiar with the content that they are signing up to present.

Addressing intergenerational and historical trauma, promoting healing and protective factors, and reducing adversity in future generations will require the involvement of many creative, collaborative, and passionate people. 

The goal of the Understanding ACEs: Building Self-Healing Communities Presentation is to offer a common language and understanding of core concepts from the fields of neurobiology, epigenetics, epidemiology (ACEs), and resilience research. You will also have time to discuss your ideas on how this information can be applied to your sphere of influence in your work, family life, and community. 

This presentation will be shared in three sections: 

1. Neurobiology & Epigenetics focuses on how our brains adapt to our environment during childhood and some basic concepts related to how toxic stress can impact healthy development 
2. Key Findings from the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study highlights some of the data from the original ACE Study 
3. Resilience provides a framework for thinking about resilience, and focuses primarily on attachment and belonging, supporting individual capabilities, culture, community, and spirituality as key protective systems 

We will be offering a virtual Presenter Training Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, September 23rd from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

• Purpose of the ACE Interface Presenter Training 
• Certification process and Presenter responsibilities 
• Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
