Frequently Asked Questions about Supervised Parenting

How are visits scheduled?

The intake coordinator will work with both parties to schedule weekly or biweekly parenting time that works for everyone’s schedule. Most visits are 90 minutes or 2 hours and scheduled on a recurring basis at the same day and time each week or two.

Can I do a one-time visit or once-per-month visit?

We require a minimum of biweekly visits. One time or monthly visits are not available

How much do supervised parenting and safe exchange services cost?

FamilyWise charges a non-refundable registration fee of $50.

Costs for services are determined during your intake evaluation or by the agency that referred you to FamilyWise.

Supervised parenting registration fees for crime victims are covered by a grant from the Office of Justice Programs.

I can’t afford visits, do you offer free services?

FamilyWise does not currently have funding to provide free or reduced services. There is no sliding fee scale available.

Are activities available during the time I spend with my children at our supervised visit?

We offer a family-friendly environment, which may include a kitchen, toys and games, game room, and playground. Parents may also bring age appropriate toys and activities for use during parenting time

How do I sign up?

Fill out one of these registration forms, request more information, or call us at (612) 877-7838. There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee payable on-line.

When returning the registration forms, please include any court documents you may have. Please be prepared to discuss your family’s circumstances and which level of service may be right for you. We will also request a copy of your current picture ID.

For child welfare agency cases, ask your county worker for a referral to FamilyWise.
