FamilyWise has received $5,000 in program support from St. Luke Presbyterian Church of Wayzata, MN. This grant was made in honor of FamilyWise co-founder and long-time board member Arlene Nystuen’s retirement from board service and her longtime advocacy for women and children.

St. Luke grants are awarded to organizations whose activities 1) create sustainable change, 2) have a clear vision with specific goals, 3) have a potential for congregational involvement, 4) meet an immediate need, 5) have demonstrable results, 6) make cost-effective use of resources, 7) have a clear plan to measure success and 8) have a history with St. Luke.

The mission of St. Luke is to serve as a joyful, inclusive and compassionate community on a spiritual journey seeking to do justice, make peace, act mercifully and to walk humbly with God. Regular services are held every Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

FamilyWise is a local nonprofit that has been keeping children safe and helping families lead stable, healthy and productive lives since 1976. We educate, empower and enrich families who are struggling with poverty, substance abuse, mental health issues, homelessness and domestic violence. Our programs vary, but the end result is the same: we take complex problems that affect families and work with them to create solutions that will sustain them throughout their lives. Read our Annual Report to learn more about our work and how to get involved.
