Our office was flower bombed today!
Inspired by the sunflowers he saw along El Camino de Santiago in Spain, local artist David Cook plants these temporary sculptures around the Twin Cities to bring joy to passersby. “It’s so simple. People see them. They smile. That’s it,” Cook told Star Tribune. “It’s universal. Children point. People stop walking. They talk. Families and friends gather ’round for pictures.”
And it works! The children who arrive in the morning at our early childhood education center and those who come to visit with their families throughout the day delighted over the installations. Even our staff couldn’t help but stop for a photo.
