This past weekend, our good friends at Daugherty came for another productive day of service. More than a dozen employees from the business consulting firm – based in St. Louis but with a regional presence in the Twin Cities – gathered early Saturday morning to volunteer. By noon, we had a fully-stocked and assembled Little Free Library (purchased with funds donated by Daugherty employees) in front of our building on University Avenue, a clean lawn, a weeded out backyard with new seating and increased storage space thanks to a tech purge of old equipment.
Thank you, Daugherty, for the incredible impact you’ve made on FamilyWise and the community we serve!
Daugherty is a premier IT and business consulting company with a 30-year history of providing leading-edge solutions. Based in St. Louis, they have offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, and New York. When Daugherty’s Minneapolis branch was looking to “adopt” a local nonprofit that helps families in poverty, they selected FamilyWise (78% of our clients live in poverty). Through donations and service projects they have taken on everything from grounds-keeping to business strategy. Last September, we were thrilled to be co-recipients of Charities Review Council‘s first Better Together Award!
Since 1976, FamilyWise has been keeping children safe and helping families gain the stability needed to lead healthy and productive lives. FamilyWise provides parent education, comprehensive support services, and supervised visitation and safe exchange services to at-risk children and families experiencing trauma. Over 1,600 families were served in 2015 and nearly 2,150 children were kept safe while parents learned to help them achieve age-appropriate developmental milestones.
