At yesterday’s all-staff meeting, FamilyWise staff, interns and volunteers celebrated the 16th anniversary of Teacher Bea, manager of our First Step Early Childhood Education Center. Thanks, Bea, for all your dedication to our infants, toddlers, preschoolers and families!
About Teacher Bea
Bea Pfeiffer is credentialed by the National Child Development Association and has been working in child development since 1997, including being a center manager and lead teacher. Bea also has experience working at teen homeless shelters. She has been with FamilyWise since 1999.
About First Step
First Step Early Childhood Education Center is located in the Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis and offers an amazing learning environment for infants (6 weeks-16 months), toddler (16-32 months), and preschool (33 months-first day of kindergarten). Our low child-to-teacher ratio and Creative Curriculum® make it a great place for kids to thrive. Since 1976, FamilyWise has been keeping children safe and helping families gain the stability needed to lead healthy and productive lives. FamilyWise provides parent education, comprehensive support services, and supervised visitation and safe exchange services to at-risk children and families experiencing trauma. In 2017, nearly 1,200 children under the age of six were kept safe while parents learned to help them achieve age-appropriate developmental milestones. 91% of clients are considered low income.
